We are aware that some exemptions are in place regarding 'supervised children's activity' during the four-week lockdown in England. We have worked with the government to clarify these specific rules regarding skating.
It is with regret that we have been told by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Department of Education (DfE) that ‘supervised activity for children’ is allowed only in relation to childcare necessary to enable parents to work or search for work or to undertake training or education.
It has been confirmed that general sports provision for children cannot continue to run and all other out of school activities not being primarily used by parents for childcare purposes, should close for face-to-face provision for the duration of the national restrictions.
We are sorry to have to deliver such disappointing news and are working tirelessly to make sure that people can return to the ice as soon as possible.
