We are pleased to announce the introduction of a new Coaching Qualification Working Group as part of an exciting project to redevelop the coaching qualifications we offer, with applications for places on the group open now.
The recent review of our Level 2 Coaching Qualification identified some key areas where we could make improvements and add value, the most significant of which will be a move toward discipline-specific qualifications. This will allow coaches, old and new, the opportunity to learn and develop as a professional, creating a portfolio of their qualifications.
We're now looking for experts within each discipline to help us carry out this exciting work to the highest possible standard by including voices and experiences from across the skating community.
The volunteer working groups (one each for Singles, Pairs, Ice Dance, Synchro and Short Track) will help us shape, mould and potentially deliver content for the new Level 2 qualifications, providing a variety of skills and knowledge to support the project. This is an exciting opportunity which we are hopeful will help British Ice Skating build foundations for a progressive future in collaboration with our members and supporters.
Applicants are welcomed who have specific expertise in at least one of the following areas:
Basic skating skills
Pattern dances
Jump technique
Spins (solo and/or couples)
Pair elements
Couples elements
Synchro elements
Choreography
Speed skating technique
Off ice technique
Training schedule/session planning
Meetings of the working groups will be held online and scheduled flexibly to suit the capacity and availability of their members. For more details about the role including a detailed Person Specification:
